As I enter my 55th birthday, I feel the urge to reflect upon insights and lessons learned from my life experiences, in particular from my life’s challenges as these were truly the most precious gifts. Each one caused its own suffering and yet from each one, I received a very Divine gift with it. They were all seeds to my awakening to who I really am.
Oh I have been so many different people throughout my life!!! And yet there has always beena part of me that has always been present throughout every single phase of my journey of who I was being in my life. It is this underlying part of me that is underneath my ups and downs of life, underneath the role as Mom and Coach, beyond my beliefs, appearance, habits, lifestyle thoughts and desires. It is the steadfast calm in the strength of the storm. I can recall the deep knowing from a young age that we are more than body and mind. I remember looking into my eyes in the bathroom mirror looking deep into my eyes to try to see my soul.
There have been times in my life when the ego/mind made everything so serious and it was my job to fix it all. During these years of my life, I didn’t pay much attention to that which always resided deep within me. It was during this time, when I knew my greatest suffering. It was due to my challenges in life that I am who I am today.
With each challenge, this inner part of me, the part of me was always there, always present, like a deep “knowing”…yet very silent. And this is the part of all of us that exists and until we tune in to it, we struggle in life. Each challenge served as a lesson – some cumulative over time and some like a blast of lightning – yet each one woke me up to another version of myself.
I am looking back with love for my younger self for all the challenges she had to endure and yet I can now see some of the lessons I took away from each one.
Here are a few of them:
1- The boy in nursery school who promised to build me a mansion with blocks and asked me to describe all of the rooms I want and how I want the house designed taught me not to rely on others to create my dreams or I could get very disappointed. I did not learn this lesson fully until much later in life.
2- My closest friends turning on me and bullying me taught me to develop the awareness of WHO I was being and to trust my vibe about who I can/cannot trust. It taught me that nothing anyone says or how anyone treats me has anything to do with me and is all about them. Again, I didn’t learn this fully until more recently but it did teach me another even more important lesson. No matter how terrible a time in my life feels, I can get through it. I’m a survivor.
3- The lessons I learned from each of my relationships/marriages are multi-fold. One thing I learned about me is that if I loved you, I will always love you and there will always be a special place in my heart for you. The most important lesson I learned was that until I finally sought the love and worthiness in myself, I continued to seek it elsewhere, choosing the wrong partners for me.
4- My most terrifying challenge which was my health challenge. Ultimately, this was the one that woke me up to a much deeper level of understanding to my own power and abilities. It also gave me the knowledge of my purpose – to help others overcome their own challenges as I have learned how to overcome mine and heal myself.
The thing is, we don’t have to wait for a challenge to appear in order to tune in to this part of us. And yet most of us consider life itself a challenge – having the love, the body, the health, the money, the lifestyle, the purpose, the excitement that we want.
These are some of the lessons I’ve learned through my life experience thus far and I’d love to share them with you.
Identifying with our mind is the human dysfunction.
Until we know that we are not our mind, we will continue to suffer unnecessarily.
Most of us are constantly judging ourselves and others.
Judgment is the story in your head, the ego.
Judgment causes suffering and is based on fear.
Judgment causes separation.
Acceptance causes connection.
We are sent here to evolve into our higher consciousness while here on Earth – to truly know ourselves.
As we awaken, we rise together in Love
.
We are all One.
We are here to connect and love each other in spite of our differences.
Challenges are here to force us to find our greatness by connecting to our true nature, our soul.
How we view our challenges determines whether or not we learn the lesson.
When the lesson is learned, there is no longer a need for the challenge.
The body is the portal to this connection.
Giving to others is a gift you give to yourself.
Life is meant to be fun, light and playful.
We are all creative in our own way.
The Universe loves to surprise and delight.
We are all here on Earth School in order to learn our life’s lessons.
Our challenges are here to serve our greatest good.
There is a master plan that we may not know until after our life experience is over.
We can heal ourselves.
Everything is Energy, including our bodies.
If you want a change in your life, you must change your energy.
To change your energy, you must free yourself of the mind.
We can all become present in our lives instead of being controlled by the past and future which do not exist.
We are powerful creators.
How we view our challenges determines whether or not we learn the lesson.
When the lesson is learned, there is no longer a need for the challenge.
On my 55th Birthday, I can honestly say that I’m in the best place of my life thus far. I am feeling even more impassioned and have a greater understanding that it is my purpose to help others to overcome their challenges in their life by becoming their highest self and live their greatest life ever. I feel the calling to help others to awaken to the present moment and take back their life from the constant chatter in their mind.- to actually live their life instead of sleepwalking through it.
As I progress in my life, it is my deepest desire to do my part in spreading light throughout our world – of creating light instead of darkness, love instead of anger/hatred, faith instead of fear, acceptance instead of judgment, oneness instead of separateness.
Well, fast forward to today and I have completely healed myself!!! I am on zero medications or treatments and I am back to fully functioning better than ever!!
This journey has brought to light the path of my purpose. I now know that we all are capable of healing ourselves – not just the select few!! We all have the part of ourselves that we may feel so separate from – as though it may not even exist – and that’s our inner being, our soul.
By using this challenge to get an even deeper connection to my true self, it has allowed me to recognize the obstacles that others face and makes it so very difficult to get beyond it alone. It sometimes takes someone outside of yourself who knows the signs of the resistance, the ego that becomes our own greatest obstacle to our complete and utter triumph!!
I’m here to share with you that it is absolutely possible for you to make the complete journey yet you may just be in need of the awareness that can be shown to you. Blind spots, if you will, that we are not able to see from our current perspective but that can appear like a ray of light when made visible by the introducing another perspective of an experienced coach.
